The Braemar PLC Executive Committee operates under the direction of the Chief Executive Officer, James Gundy.
The CEO has final authority in all matters of management except those that are within the duties and authorities of the Board of Directors or of the shareholders’ general meeting. The Executive Committee supports the CEO, implementing all Board resolutions and supervising all management levels throughout Braemar.

James has worked in shipbroking for over 35 years, specialising in Tankers and Sale & Purchase projects. He became the Chief Executive Officer of Braemar’s Shipbroking Division after our merger with ACM Shipping Group PLC, where he had also served as CEO.

Tris has over 30 years of experience in the commodities industry. He worked at GFI Group for 14 years before founding Atlantic Brokers in 2013, which was sold to Braemar in 2018 to create its derivative brokerage business. He joined the Board of Braemar Shipping Services PLC on August 1st 2021.

Tris Simmonds
Nick has worked as a Director at several listed companies, including Hornby PLC and KBC Advanced Technologies PLC. His most recent appointment before joining Braemar was CFO of The Appointment Group.

Nick Stone
John has been the HR/people subject-matter expert on multiple mergers, demergers, and acquisitions throughout his career. Beckwith is well-versed in financial services regulation and corporate governance. He worked for Clarksons, OE Connections, ED&F Man Capital Markets, Man Group, and MF Global before joining Braemar in 2022.

Alistair is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and has a proven track record of financial leadership in the professional services sector. He worked for WS Atkins PLC, Octavian International LTD and BDO before joining Braemar in 2015.

Alistair Borthwick
Sebastian has three decades of global S&P experience and has been with Braemar since 1994, working with private and listed firms as well as governments and admiralty marshals. His focus is on bulkers and tankers and has built a strong reputation for finding resolutions for defaulted shipyard contracts, reselling large vessel series, and overseeing effective fleet acquisition and disposal.
